Bible verses about healing
There are three different reasons you might have searched this. Your body is sick, or someone's is. Or something inside you is broken and won't mend: a loss, a betrayal, a year you can't get over. Or you've heard people say God heals and you want to know if it's true.
Here's the honest map. The Bible is full of God healing bodies, and it's also full of people who prayed and stayed sick, including Paul, who asked three times. It is unambiguous that God is close to people whose hearts are broken. And it promises a day when there will be no more pain at all, which is a promise about the end of the story, not next Tuesday.
So: pray for healing, plainly, the way the psalms do. Also see the doctor. Jesus himself said sick people need a physician, and nothing in these verses suggests faith is a replacement for medicine. It's the thing you bring alongside it.

This is the only complete healing the Bible promises, and it's at the very end. Everything before it is partial. That's not a cop-out; it's the frame that lets you pray for now without pretending now is all there is.
What to actually do with these
Do both things. Book the appointment, take the medication, tell the therapist the true version. And pray for healing in plain words, the way Jeremiah 17:14 does, without hedging to protect yourself from disappointment. If you're part of a church, James 5 says to actually tell people and let them pray for you, which most of us avoid because it feels needy. It isn't. If the healing you need is the inside kind, Psalm 147:3 gives you a picture: wounds get wrapped, not zapped. Expect slow. Questions people ask
Does God heal today?
Christians across almost every tradition would say yes, and many can tell you about it. What they'd also say, if they're honest, is that it doesn't happen on demand and it doesn't happen every time. The Bible shows both: the woman in Mark 5 healed instantly, and Paul in 2 Corinthians 12 told no three times. So pray for it, expect that God can, and don't build your faith on the assumption that he must. Healing in the Bible is a gift, not a mechanism.
If I have enough faith, will I be healed?
No verse says that, and several push against it. Paul had more faith than most and lived with his 'thorn'. Timothy had stomach problems and Paul told him to drink some wine for them (1 Timothy 5:23), not to believe harder. Jesus did praise people's faith when he healed them, but he also healed people who hadn't asked and raised people who couldn't. If someone tells you your illness continued because you didn't believe enough, that's cruelty dressed up as theology. Faith is trusting God either way.
Should I pray for healing or go to the doctor?
Both, without guilt about either. Jesus said sick people need a physician (Matthew 9:12) and treated that as obvious. Luke, who wrote a quarter of the New Testament, was a doctor. The woman in Mark 5 had tried every doctor first, and Jesus didn't hold it against her. Prayer and medicine aren't rivals. If anyone tells you to stop treatment as an act of faith, that's a reason to be very careful about their advice.
What does the Bible say about emotional healing?
More than people expect. Psalm 147:3 and Psalm 34:18 are specifically about broken hearts and crushed spirits, and the promise in both is closeness and slow repair, not instant relief. The psalms are full of people saying exactly how bad they feel before anything improves, which is itself a model. Nothing in the Bible says a Christian shouldn't need counseling; it says God is near the crushed. Getting help for your mind is not a lack of faith. It's the same logic as seeing a doctor for your body.
